I believe we’ve gotten so used to the pat, consistently-presented media drama of presidential elections that it’s easy to forget what this process is actually supposed to accomplish. The debate needs to be energetic, disagreement is good, candidates should be diverse and distinguishable. In these times, we need great ideas, and those don’t automatically come from the annointed front-runner. I want to have a real choice this time, not the usual pick of the lesser of evils.
